Denmark x Reader - New In Town - Part 2

"Before we go in, you shouldn't be surprised by the surroundings, okay?" That's all Mathias said. When you nodded to it he opened the front door of the house he had led you to. By now Mathias had become even more soaked, his whole uniform was all sticky from the water.

You handed Mathias his coat back when the two of you stood at the front door, the floor becoming wet from the water that literally dripped from Mathias' features. He brushed his blonde hair out of his face. He was about to step into the across the wooden flooring, into the living room until someone stepped in front of him, his blue almost emotionless expression was completely concentrated on Mathias. The newcommer had soft blonde hair, with a hairpin clipped in it on the front. He was still in his school uniform apparently as well.

"And here I thought you would never show up, you sure enjoy coming back like a soaked dog everytime, huh?" The male spoke in a somewhat Norwegian accent, a slight playful tone was heard as he did, yet his expression never changed. Mathias only chuckled, was he actually liking this kind of attention?

"You're acting as if it's extremely cold or something, but this is nothing compared to where we came from. I could easily take this in just my boxers!" Mathias happily said. He seemed to proud of himself, but the male only gave a disgusted grumble before his lips curled into a tiny grin.

"Let's test that now then" He suddenly said. He was about to approach Mathias when he was suddenly pulled back by the arm, another male did so. He had a somewhat grey-silverish hair color, and his purple eyes held an annoyed expression in them.

"I said I was helping you with the dishes, not do them for you, Lukas" The male sounded so frustrated as he spoke with an icelandic accent. Lukas, or as the guy was being called now.. his blank expression turned to look at the other that grabbed him.

"You know I would listen to you more often if you'd call me your big brother for once, Emil~" Emil's expression turned into an even deeper frown after Lukas spoke on a rather childish manner. You couldn't help but giggle inwardly when Emil dragged the other along with him back into the kitchen.

"As if that would ever happen" Was the last thing you heard coming from Emil before they turned around the corner. Mathias' laugh quickly cut through, finally stepping straight through the house and leaving a long trail of water. You quietly followed nontheless until he suddenly stopped to face you.

"Uhh, if you don't mind you can wait right here and make your call. I'll be upstairs to change" You nodded at Mathias' words, and watched him as he disappeared up the stairs.

You were left alone in a rather large living room. There were a sofa and some chairs which were facing a large television, a basic dining table with about six chairs, and some bookcases. The walls were decorated with some pictures, all of them contained the same five people over and over. You recognized Mathias, Lukas and Emil now that you had seen them, but the other two remained rather unfamiliar.

One was a tall male which had blond hair and striking blue eyes, he also wore glasses. But his expression seemed a little blank, similar to Lukas'.. but not as much as him either. The other somewhat shorter male also had blond hair but he held purple eyes, he seemed somewhat uncomfortable to stand next to the tallest male in the pictures.

You shrugged it off, taking out your cell phone in order to call your parents. In the meanwhile you sat down on the comfortable sofa while checking for the number. It only took you a moment to call your parents in order to confirm that you were alright, and they agreed to pick you up later on, which could take a while. You didn't mind it, as long as you were allowed to stay until you they would arrive.

"Do you like Mathias?" A sudden voice made you jump, causing you to sit up properly and look right at the source of the voice. There stood Lukas, right behind the sofa you sat on, which stood in the middle of the room. His expression still remained the same as before, almost emotionless.. yet you could see some curiosity in those blue orbs.

"Lukas!" Emil's voice cut through out of protest, he seemed quite embarrassed.. but rather curious about it as well at the same time when he approached you, he just tried to hide it which didn't really work out.

"He's nice, but what can I say?.. I mean.. I barely met him today" You fairly admitted. Lukas let out a soft thoughtfull hum for a moment.

"That's true I guess.. well, he doesn't just invite every random person home, he always has some kind of reason for it" Lukas spoke. Somehow it made you wonder what reason Mathias could possibly have to invite you in that case, but you decided not to ask about it since the brothers seemed to be curious about that themselves as well.

"Just go and do your homework already before you fall behind in the beginning of the year already" Emil piped up, changing the subject. Lukas sighed as he was being dragged towards another room once again, he didn't really mind it when it was Emil doing it apparently.

"Whatever you say, brother~" He cooed teasingly before they disappeared.

"I'm done!" Mathias' voice soon interruped the quick moment of silence as he came back downstairs, now dressed in something simple. He came to sit down next to you on the sofa, a playful or nervous grin spread across his face.

"What's so funny?" You curiously asked, causing him to chuckle for a moment. Mathias fiddled with the sleeve of his sweater for a moment, before continuing. He seemed a bit unsure how to continue.

"W-well.. you're the first person I was able to approach while being myself. Back at home we were just together with the five of us, there wasn't really anyone to go to talk to. So it kind of surprised me that I was able to go over to you so easily this morning, and then I figured to offer you my help since you seemed troubled earlier" You slowly nodded as Mathias explained himself. You knew just as much how hard it could be to make friends after all, you had been through something similar yourself.

"If it's really troubling you I wouldn't mind to be your friend" You offered, causing Mathias' grin to grow wider in a positive way. He suddenly wrapped his arm around your neck happily.

"Alright then, that's settled! ______ was it, right?" He laughed, a bit embarrassed that he had to recall your name, but at least he got it right which made you smile in return.

"That's right" You say. Mathias' personality sure seemed to have brightened up the next instand after he took the offer of being friends. You had to admit that such a thing suited him quite a bit.

The two of you actually ended up laughing with each other for a while. Mathias told you a lot of jokes, and told you what it was like to be back at where he came from. Actually getting to know that he was from a cold place like Denmark was quite surprising, since it was a lot warmer right here.

"There's someone for the girl at the door!" Lukas eventually called out at some point, you sighed as you got up from the sofa. You pretty much enjoyed the time you spent with Mathias and he seemed to find it too bad that you had to leave already.

"It seems my parents are here, so I'll be off" You said. Mathias stood up from the sofa as well, leading you down the hallway towards the front door.

"How about we meet up tomorrow before class? You didn't forget about the studying already, right?" Mathias teased, causing you to chuckle lightly.

"Of course I didn't, I'll see you tomorrow!" You said as you ran right into the dripping rain towards the car your parents were waiting in. Mathias happily waved you off before you were out of sight.

You were glad that you made a new friend, and partly you couldn't wait for the next day..
